Customer Reviews
First let me say I must have read about 200 reviews before buying. I own the iPad and I needed something with a camera. When this got here I was really excited because it was going to make my job so much easier being able to take pictures while on the road and do all my written reports before I got home. I almost sent it back the first day because unlike the iPad you don't just pick up the zoom and start using it. I remember another reviewer talking about the iPad being like playing checkers and the zoom being like chess so I hung in there and started downloading apps. Once the apps were in place and I started using, I couldn't be happier. I bought the wifi version first but sent it back on the last possible day and got the 4G version. If you can spend an extra 30 a month do the 4g as you won't have to mess around with the mobile internet card (which always seemed to be out of power, or not work when I really needed it in front of a client.) Bottom line this is a good piece of gear. I had read that there weren't many apps for droid and that I should get the iPad 2, but let me be the first to tell you that there are tons of free and paid apps and everything that I needed thus far has been there. For those of you who are doing what I did and spending hours reading reviews here is a short list of my pros and cons
Pros
Flash player
Camera
multi task
Folder storage
Ability to scan and send docs
Cons
No forward button
No desk top folders
Syncing between my desktop (this is me not the zoom but it's a con right now)
Bottom line if you are completely not a computer person I recommend the iPad 2. If you have basic skills and want the most features possible than get the zoom. Either one will be a great buy. I read all the vs. Articles while I was waiting for the zoom to ship and kept second guessing myself. I'm happy I bought the zoom as it is a quality product. Best of luck in making your decision.
I don't have a bad word to say about it. I initially purchased it after reading reviews comparing it to the iPAD2. All reviews had it rated equal if not better than the iPAD2.
I bought it at a much reduced price. It works perfectly so far and I found it easy to learn overall. There are 100's of apps, I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm watching for a sale to purchase another 2 or 3 for family members. Mine cost only $355 including shipping and no tax. I got a steal in my opinion and hope where I bought it runs another sale. As long as I can find the few gifts for under $400 out the door and shipped or picked up, I'll be buying additional ones for the holidays. So far, no sucess. Not even close. Now I wish I bought a few when I bought mine but wanted to try it first.
The upside to this tablet is you can access Flash pages. I've heard that won't be supported in the future but it's not being taken away either.
Overall, I have no complaints and I'm extremely happy with the Motorola Xoom 2.
